THE LANDS OF JESUS AND MOSES

DAY 1:

We depart USA in the afternoon for Amman, Jordan. After dinner is served, sit back and relax, enjoying the on-board entertainment as you prepare for this exciting adventure of a lifetime.

DAY 2:

ARRIVE AMMAN/ DEAD SEA

Upon arrival at Alia Gateway Airport in Amman, we will be met by our agent who assists us through customs and security. Transfer to our hotel at the Dead Sea for dinner and overnight. After dinner enjoy a relaxing swim/float in the Dead Sea under the moonlight at the Dead Sea Spa Hotel or similar.

DAY 3:

DEAD SEA / MT. NEBO / PETRA

This morning our first visit will be a visit to Mt. Nebo, to stand where Moses stood to view the Promised Land. We continue our drive south along the New Kings Highway for Petra. We visit Petra, "rose red city half as old as time." This ancient Edomite and Nabatean capital is an amazing example of prophecy. We'll see the spectacular "city of the dead," with its famed gorge, ancient streets, temples, dwelling places and tombs, carved in the solid rock. Then we arrive at El-Ji Post, and continue the one mile journey on horseback, or walk, passing through the famous Siq (the natural gorge) and arrive at the Treasury. In the afternoon, we visit Roman Temple Ruins of Roman City, Nabatean Judgment Hall, Palace Tombs, and famous Urn Temple, Roman Amphitheatre. Those willing to climb may view the Monastery, Jebel Harun (mountains of Aaron), supposed to be the burial place of Aaron. Horseback journey back to El-Ji Post. Dinner and overnight at Petra Panorama Hotel or similar.

DAY 4:

PETRA / LOT'S CAVE / AQABA

After breakfast we depart Petra and travel south via Tafileh for Lot's Sanctuary Cave near modern Safi. Continue to Aqaba and the Red Sea for our crossing to Eilat. After border formalities, we meet our Israel guide in Eilat at the border crossing and continue for a short sightseeing tour of this remarkable resort town. We enjoy our visit to the world renowned Under Water Observatory to see the incredible marine life displayed in the Red Sea. We conclude our day with a drive up on the Negev plateau for to see magnificent geological formations and for a sunset overlooking: Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Israel. Dinner and overnight in Aqaba.

DAY 5:

EILAT / WILDERNESS / MASADA / DEAD SEA

After breakfast we leave Aqaba for Eilat and drive north through Arava Valley to Timna Park: site of Solomon’s copper mines, and earlier Egyptian and Chalolithic temple and copper works (hieroglyphics and wall paintings), amazing natural formations carved by winds on red Nubian sandstone; including Solomon’s “pillars”. Continue north for lunch at oasis of Ein Bokek. We continue through the Wilderness of Judah for Masada, where we will ascend high upon the wilderness mountain by way of the cable car to the fortress built by King Herod. Here we survey the ruins of the fortifications, waterworks, synagogue, temples and palaces. Our guide will point out to us the area - region of where Sodom and Gomorrah would have taken place. We will have time to swim/float once again in the Dead Sea or possibly an optional massage. Dinner and overnight at the Dead Sea Novotel Hotel or similar.

DAY 6:

QUMRAN / EIN GEDI / JERICHO / JERUSALEM

Our first stop will be Qumran and the possible settlement of the first century sect known as the Essenes, the authors of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Following the road north along the western shore of the Dead Sea, we will stop at Ein Gedi where David hid from King Saul. We begin our way up to Jerusalem along the Old Jericho Road. The highway we take will include many of the following biblical sites: Mt. Tabor (Judges 4); Ein Harod (Judg. 7:1); Beit Shan (1 Sam. 31:10); and Jericho (Josh. 26; Mark 10:46; Luke 19:1). The road from Jericho to Jerusalem is an ascent of 4000 feet in 13 miles. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem at the Grand Court Hotel or Crown Plaza Hotel.

DAY 7:

MT. OF OLIVES / TEMPLE MOUNT / VIA DOLOROSA / HOLY SEPULCHER / WESTERN WALL / BETHLEHEM

We begin our explorations with a drive to the beautiful Mt. of Olives to behold the breathtaking panorama of the Holy City. Our pilgrimage will proceed to the Church of Ascension, descend to Gethsemane with its ancient olive grove, and there visit the Church of Agony, where tradition holds that Jesus prayed. We will enter Jerusalem through the Dung Gate, and walk to the holiest site in the whole Jewish world, the Western Wall (Wailing Wall) of Herod's temple. Beyond the wall lies the 35 acre temple area purchased by King David (2 Sam. 24:18-25). On this site now stands the magnificent Dome of the Rock (the third holiest shrine in all Islam) and the El Aksa Mosque. From the temple area, we make our way to St. Stephen's Gate, St. Anne's Crusader Church, Pools of Bethesda, the Sister of Zion Convent (to see the Pavement where Jesus stood as he was being tried by Pilate), Ecco Homo Arch, and then follow the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the ancient Cardo. This afternoon we will pass by Rachel's tomb on the outskirts of Bethlehem, and visit the Church of the Nativity and Shepherd's Field, we will have an opportunity to view Israel's Knesset, the huge bronze Menorah, and time permitting we will visit Yad Vashem Memorial with a special visit to Schindler's grave. We will conclude our day with a visit to the Garden Tomb and communion. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem at the Grand Court Hotel or Crown Plaza Hotel.

DAY 8:

HEZEKIAH'S TUNNEL / THE UPPER ROOM / ISRAEL MUSEUM / MODEL CITY OF JERUSALEM

Hezekiah’s Tunnel (Shaft). Those willing will have an opportunity to walk through the recently excavated "shaft" to see the water cistern during the time of King David. From here we drive to Ein Karem village, the birthplace of John the Baptist, to see the Church of Visitation, and then go to Mt. Zion, The Upper Room, where Jesus spent those last momentous hours with his disciples before his passion, and it was also here where the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples on Pentecost. From there we will go to the Israel Museum, including the Bronfman Archaeological Museum and the Shrine of the Book Museum, where the Dead Sea Scrolls are displayed. You will be fascinated by your visit to a model of Jerusalem (1 to 50 scale model of Herodian Jerusalem as it would have appeared in Jesus' time). Dinner and overnight Jerusalem at the Grand Court or Crown Plaza Hotel.

DAY 9:

CAESAREA / MEGIDDO / NAZARETH / TIBERIAS

Today we depart Jerusalem for the Galilee, visiting the following biblical sites: Caesarea (Acts 9 & 25), Mt. Carmel (1 Kgs. 18), Megiddo (Armageddon; 1 Kgs. 9:15; Rev. 16:16), Nazareth (Luke 1 & 2), Cana (John 2) and Tiberias (John 6:23). Dinner and overnight in Tiberias at the Caesar Hotel or Holiday Inn with Hot Springs.

DAY 10:

GALILEE / CAPERNAUM / MT. OF BEATITUDES / CAESAREA PHILIPPI

There is nothing quite like watching a sunrise on the Sea of Galilee from your hotel room. Today will include many biblical sites along the shore of the Sea of Galilee and in the Upper Jordan Valley: e.g. boat ride across the Sea of Galilee; Capernaum (Matt. 4:13), Mount of Beatitudes (Matt. 57), Tabgha (Feeding of 5000; Mark 6), Church of Peter of Primacy (John 21), Magdala (Matt. 15:39; Luke 8:2); Caesarea Philippi (Paneas; Mark 8:27), view Mt. Hermon (Deut. 3:8), Border of Lebanon (Josh. 11:17), and Hazor (Josh. 11:10; 1 Kgs. 9:15). After a full day sightseeing we transfer to the Arava border for Amman where we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner and overnight.

DAY 11:

AMMAN / USA

Early this morning we will be transferred to Amman airport and board our flight to USA. The close of an unforgettable tour, we bring with us lasting memories of the Old and New Testament, a renewal of our faith, and a greater understanding of the life and ministry of our Lord. We arrive home later this afternoon from our memorable trip.
